Hi guys need so insite to this prob .i had an engine light on check at local garage and it was the exhaust cam sensor , they changed it and then phoned me now not starting? on checking it had jumped timing,,they could not do job, had towed to garage recomended merc repairer(indi), they said cam gears worn down chain tensioners and valves,,cost to repair was more than a recon engine from direct engines in glasgow, so went with recon had to have gearbox removed twice after fitting as rear crankseal leaked and the brakes were solid at tickover, found drive pump for servo faulty 2nd one fitted its the same ?? so guy fitting engine removed rocker covers to find it was wrong camshaft? went back to direct engines and got another cam and had timming set up again, NOW PICKED CAR UP AND DROVE HOME SOME 15 MILES ALL OK STOPED CAR AND RESTARTED ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON ??AND SHE HUNTS AND SLIGHT MISS SOMETIMES HAD CODE RECHECKED AND IT SAYS EXHAUST CAMSHAFT INCORRECT POSITION INTERMITANTLY,HAVE SPOKEN TO A M8 HE SAY THE HUNT COULD BE THE AIR INTAKE PIPES BELOW AIR FILTER WILL GET THIS CHECKED OVER WEEKEND ANY IDEAS GUYS ON THE CAM FAULT....LOVED THIS CAR NOW FEELS LIKE A MILSTONE DIRECT ARE BEING NO HELP THEY SAY ITS DOWN TO THE GARAGE BOTH WHERE RECOMENDED SORRY FOR THE LONG STORY GUYS
