When the car isn't in gear it doesn't go past 4000k rpm.

Too bad MB lowers the RPM limit in Park or Neutral. Those engines would really sound *****in at 6000RPM in the garage!

I was given the option of removing the rev-limiter, but decided that with my upgrades keeping the limit in 4000 would probably be "healthier" for my engine. I mean all you're doing is spinning things faster, including the supercharger, which isn't doing any work if the rear tires aren't moving... so you're basically just making things hotter? Save energy for the race .

Word around my college is that a guy with a bone stock '06 325i wants a piece. ;D.

I was being facetious. Anyone that pays to have that limit raised is a fool.

On unkompressed cars I think it may be safer to remove the revlimiter (and I know people who have done it on C320s), but for the kompressed, keep it safe. There's no need to whine the charger staying still when someone can hear my charger whine nearly 2+ blocks down the street after a midterm .

You don't know what you are talking about. Just because someone has removed the limiter and hasn't blown up yet doesn't make it safe.

Hell it's not my car (because as you know, I wouldn't do it). I'm simply saying it hasn't blown up and knock on wood for the guy :\. Then again, I also know he doesnt rev it like a madman... do you mr. bear?

he would get owned by the new 325i. Just a reminder, the new e90 325i 6spd is quicker than a e46 330i 6spd.

Yah the new 325i's are pretty quick. I raced one last nite on the freeways, was an automatic though. It was from 80 up, i downshifted to 5th, should've to 4th, but anyways he pulled on me a lil from the start and kept pulling to about 1 car length. I wanted to start slower to maybe make things more interesting but this guy was in a rush.

OK, you are right. After all it is his engine. He can do with it as he chooses.
