Help: Leasing a 06 c230sport
c230 sport, blk, blk inserts, auto, nav, entertainment, lighting, sunroof, power driver seat and steering
MSRP: $36,775
Invoice: $35, 139
Getting it for $35, 500 OTD (Plus taxes, $389 doc fee(?) and tags and title)
Is this a good deal? Can I negotiate on the doc fee?
Also, I have Tier 1 Credit...Am I correct in assuming that the buy out money factor rate on a 3yr/12k mi lease is 0.00210 w/a residual of 63% and on a 2yr/12k mi lease is 0.00260 and 72% residual?
Also, how many times do you think I would need to get the car serviced/pay for service A/B? Basically, things that are outside warranty.
Any help would be appreciated guys...thank you
I had a 2003 C320 before this car when they used to offer covered maintenance, and brought the car in for A service at about 13,000 miles, then just a couple of times for regular service over the next 25,000 miles. Didn't have to bring it in for service as often as my BMW 325is.
I think A service is only about $100, so don't expect to be out-of-pocket for tons of cash, then you deal w/ brakes & tires depending on how many miles you'll put on.
Everything else is covered, so you don't have to worry about any computer or electrical glitches. They pay for that.
2) Everything is negotiable, the question is can you do it successfully. For doc fees, etc usually no. Try anyway, e.g. tell them to eat the doc fees and them if they push back tell them instead you'll be cool if they move you from 12K miles to 15K miles for no change in the lease terms or residual. The extra breating room comes in handy. Be creative.
3) What are you assuming the lease terms on? If it's not from a deal or info the dealer has on the table to you making these assumptions can be an issue for you, you need to check with the dealer to see if your assumptions are accurate. If it's not in the dealer's range of negotiation it won't do you much good. Plus residuals can be geographically affected.
Also you do know to multiply the money factor by 2400 to find out how much the lease is costing you in interest, right?

so basically:
36 months
10k miles
380/month
1880 otd
76% residual
33,900 price of car (but the lease was as if the car was worth only 27k! thats dealing right there!)
reasion i leased and not bought: im only 17 now, at the tiem just 16. i couldnt afford to pay the monthlies on buy.
we were gonna lease a 06 again for me (give my 05 to my grandma) cuz i wanted a stick shift (my 05 is an auto) BUT i looked online ,and the 06 is soooo slow! 0-60 8 (manual) 8.5 (auto) wtf??!?!!? **** that!!
but our deal on that car: 24 months, 425 a month, 1000 drive off/signoff/otd watever you wanna call it.
what we do is, they tell us their price (lets say 550 or 600 for the 24 month, we say "300 and no more" we sit their, negociate. then we leave. they call us back, and we fight etc and then got teh deal to 425, far form 300, but also far from their 550 crap. but then i looked up the **** and was liek **** THE 06! its too slow!! haha)
(btw, i type a lot and get off a lot so yeah, i did that haha sry...... i did answer the subject question...)
