License Plate Bulb Cover MELTED
My license plate bulb cover melted after I replaced the stock bulbs with this japanese after market bulb, 10 watts and blue.
I noticed that the stock bulbs were only 5 watts, so this extra heat generated from the new 10 watt bulbs probably melted the cover.
Has this ever happened to anyone? Are there covers that will withstand the extra heat? Where can I buy them? Thanks

No there isn't a way to run the 10W bulbs safely.

No cover for them but you need to buy another kind of aftermarket bulbs.
Did you ever get the assemblies fixed? I replaced the whole thing myself since dealer was trying to rip me off with $170!

hey BL,
I'll get somepics for you soon. So you know, when I was buying them - I was wondering the same thing as you - mindful that they might look obnoxious.
I'm glad to say they look great. barely brighter than the stock 'amber' ones - but white, not yellow! When i fitted them, i kept going back out to check them out - i was so pleased with the result. Very nice. Totally worth the spend.

As long as the guy who can't read has revived this thread...
Another happy hoen buyer here! They look better in real life than in the last picture. They have just the most subtle hint of blue to the light. It's perfect. They could stand to be just a bit brighter, but really I think its the smart choice rather than splicing wires. Not too good for resale!
