Honestly -did you really expect that you would get serious replies with pictures of an exhaust that is installed like that? That is the biggest possible hackjob man!
now - sit back & grow up

an exhaust that touches a bumper rattles...something that rattles makes noise...something that used to rattle but rattles no longer makes less noise

Didn't intend for this to escalate... between the "melting cheese" and "wash your car", I lost it! LOL! The close-up of the dirty cheese reminded me of a civic saw on the way home... ya got ***** to dremmel on your benzo! Good luck with that.

Okay, maybe I can add some clarity to this thread.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think c230 05 was referring to the exhaust note sound, not necessarily noise from the muffler/tips hitting the bumper and I think Steve may have misinterpreted what you were trying to ask as far as "loudness" is concerned. If that is what you were referring to, it's possible that the exhaust note will get deeper once it settles, in but most likely not.
To c230 05 - Steve is someone that knows his stuff, so I would suggest backing off. I don't believe he meant any ill-will from what he was telling you. It also looks like he was referring to any noise you may be hearing from the melted bumper.
If I'm totally wrong and you (c230 05) were referring to noise from the muffler/tips melting the bumper, then you seriously need to look at Steve's reputability on this board and re-evaluate how you're coming at him because he is just trying to help out another MB owner like he has for MANY people on this board.
Okay, so once this is clarified, can we all just get along?...LOL

Yes, there's more than enough snipping going on. As for the muffler, I would expect they actually get slightly quieter, until they rust off anyway, as the carbon builds up inside and dampens the walls and joints.
