No, seriously, I do love my ccoupe. It does seem like some people have unreasonable expectations of it being Honda-like in reliability (obviously not) or WRX fast (ditto).

It's a fun, practical cruiser, and anyone wanting anything else should probably look elsewhere. Having said all that, though, this will probably be my last MB; I've got a hankerin' for a Saab before GM sucks the life out of them. Just hoping for a hatch on the new 9-3 eventually.
I love mine, would love to get a C32K - I'd even be willing to re-locate back home if they won't ship it here.
But I seriously like the new 9-3. Only drawback: no hatch?!? What's wrong with practicality? My first car had a hatch (Renault 4 :-) But if Saab decides to retro-fit the 9-3 with a 5th door, I'm in like Flynn. When I lived in Denmark *everybody* and their aunt was driving Saab, with a Volvo and a Mini sprinkled in here and there.

Apparently MBUSA discovered that Americans can be made happy by simply stuffing them with sugar-coated cookies and glazed muffins. Anyway, it's a neat trick that, in the right hands, may one day lead to world peace.

C230K Coupe/Orion/C4/C5/CD/AMG Spoiler/V60/TeleAid, 2 MGB's
um....ALMOST

I'd buy a C32 Coupe if they build it with All Wheel Drive and a 6 speed (if MBUSA is watching...HINT)!

I would not, however, but a C180K badged as a C230K (another HINT).

The one thing you cannot overlook is your dealer experience. A good dealer who properly preps the car goes a long way to ensuring your happiness with the car. And they fix problems right the first time. If your dealer is crap then chances are you will not be a happy customer and will look negatively at the brand when in fact you should be angry at the dealer.

That's not true, my dealer can't do anything right the first time, not even the A service but I love them, the cookies, the muffins, the brownies, the soda, the car washes and specially all the nice loaners.

Your dealer is obviously incompetent. And you still go to them because you love the freebies ? I guess you are either not very demanding or on a sugar induced high courtesy of your dealer.

On the contrary, they understand their short falls and know how to treat the customer to make up for it. I think it's brilliant. Besides, what are my choices at this point? They are 1 mile from my house and it's very convenient.

2002 C230k
I highly doubt I'd buy a C230 again for the very simple reason that when I go look for a new car, i'll want something other than what I already have had. I could see buying another Mercedes, but I'm not so impressed with the coupe i'd have to get another one.

Criminy, I've only had it three months or so and I'm already thinking about what to buy next time. Or more to the point, thinking about what else I could have gotten for the money. :p
