W203 GPS/teleaid antenna removal: HELP
I have a 2002 C240 and it has this antenna in the rear window/windshield. Does anyone know how to remove this? It looks like it has double sided tape.
The reason why I'm asking this is because I want to reallign the antenna, my roof spoiler won't fit right because the antenna is a little off on the right.( my roof spoiler has an antenna hole) There's nothing wrong with the aftermarket roof spoiler, I measured the spoiler and the hole is in the right measurement but not the antenna.
Just looking for suggestions how to remove the antenna without breaking something. My roof spoiler and antenna looks just like in the picture.

wow, I am in concurrence with all of the responses prior to mine.
take off the fake badging, then worry about the damn antenna.
the trunk spoiler looks terrible and terribly placed (you can see the light through the bottom of it!). I've never seen such a horrible rear skirt extension, and the badges aren't even properly aligned (neither is the spacing on the "C55"). Sorry man, but you just opened yourself to it.

Agreed, AMGizZLe. But in part the reaction can be explained because you say you have a C240, but your User name includes AMG in it. Peeps were putting 2 + 2 together.
OK, let's talk about your antenna. I have one on my C320. I think it's perfectly centered on the rear glass, and I wonder if it's not the same on your car. I would be very hesitant on re-positioning it, as the transponder that links through the glass to it is immediately below. You may not have TeleAid activated, but since the car is equipped, you run the risk that any subsequent owner will not get it to work if you fiddle with it.
It makes sense that you measure the spoiler and find the hole centered, too. There are several other owners with this spoiler and they have not posted about antenna alignment problems.
So, that leads me to think of two possibilities. Either the antenna was replaced previously and truly is off-center, or that the way you are test fitting the spoiler to the car places the hole in the wrong place.
Assuming the latter as the more likely alternative, I would be guided by the hole as an index point and place it over the antenna and see how the spoiler fits, rather than make the antenna fit the spoiler. This is how others have fitted their spoilers to date.
If the former and it truly is off-center by 1/8" or so, I would consider reaming out the hole (carefully) biased toward the tight fitting side, then drill and finish a slightly larger diameter hole to finish it off. Only you would know.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.

I am sorry, I figured that you would post a pic of your car or at least a decent one to ask your question. Please accept my apologies.

Let's say you roll over in an accident and the rear glass antenna is ripped off... the bumper antenna preserves the efficacy of the system for emergency response. Same if you get rear-ended destroying the bumper antenna.
On the C-Class, I understand these are the only antennas (two). On other MBs, I understand there are more.

ahh, thanks Bob. I was trying to get an answer about this for awhile. cause i was always paranoid about 'what if the rear window breaks? do i have to replace the antenna too?'

I know it is not worth to ruin my antenna for an aftermarket roof spoiler.
I'll see how it goes.
I appreciate your help.
