PROBLEMS I am considering leaving the Mercedes Benz Family TIRED OF MY BENZ NOW !!!!!
I have owned the 2005 C230 SS for a couple months now. I mean this car is an nice car, but I just cannot stand the problems. The car has been nothing but problems, back and forth to the MB Dealer they solve problems then the same problems reappear. Then some problems they say theres no problem. When theres clearly a problem, and they say "Oh its normal". This car and the service department has been nothing but antics. I am seriously contemplating getting rid of this car soon. Its a hassle having a car back and forth to the dealer, and still have alot of problems. Then they try to charge you for little things alot of money when its a service issue. A light bulb error turn off cost $400. Im like are you serious. I dont think I will be owning another Benz after this for a while. It just seems like all these cars has been nothing but problems. I talked to other people from E,CLS,SL, Mercedes Benz, and they say that they been having nothing but problems with there cars in and out the service department. I see why Mercedes Benz get low ratings on the consumer report, and the JD Powers Association. I just cant deal with the antics and the hassle anymore with Mercedes Benz. I dont know what car I will be getting after this car, but I need to get rid of this problematic car soon.

Here let me balance this thead out. I have a 2005 c230 and have not had one problem with it in 7 months and 24K miles. I don't know why anyone would buy anything but MB.

Wow.. sorry to hear about your experiences. But it's not uncommon. My previous CLK had a replaced cat converter, shocks, cd changer, MAF and countless other electrical issues. All under warranty, thank god, else i would be broke right now. Your car is under warranty and I strongly urge you to get all under warranty items fixed, or complain to MB regional reps. Once warranty expires, dump the car.
Now, I loved the CLK but I had to get rid of it, simply b/c it's worth keeping a Benz after it's warranty period. I just bought a CPO CL 500 and already i have to take it to the service center. I think Benz makes beautiful and fast cars, but, their commitment to quality has diminished drastically. It's not just a few fourm member complaining. It's a ton of people, just visit your local MB service center and they are booked solid. Why? I really hope MB improves their quality control b/c they are already at the bottom of initial quality reviews.. All the best w/ your decision..

What do you guys think about the new Audi, BMW, Lex, or Boxster ? Going from a Benz to those is going down a notch. You would just be driving a Audi,BMW, or Lex. Im considering going up a notch higher, and get a Boxster. I mean Audi,BMW, Lex, are nice cars, but I need that sophistication appeal in status and perception. And Porsche would be a higher status than a Benz correct ?

Wow this forum is pretty rude. So the car, dealer, and forum are problems. I guess anything that pertains to MB is a problem. WOW. Good thing I am getting Porsche, bc this is rediculous. Now talk trash about that.
