Tabs Under Rear Seatbacks -- Help!
On the c230, there are four metal brackets (one on either side) of the back seats, between the seat and back cushions next to where the seat belts plug in.
They swing out at a 90 degree angle, and seem to have something to do with the rear seats, but I'm not sure what. There is a red plastic tongue/tab in the middle of each. Anyone know what these are for? My brother pulled on one, and now we can't get the red plastic tongue to fit back into the metal piece -- it's currently digging into the leather. Can't find anything in the owner's manual on this . . .

Baby Smart seat anchors, yes. If you don't have a baby to worry about, simply rotate the anchors through 90 degrees so they disappear and you're set.

Thanks- figured they had to do with child seats. The part that isn't covered in the manual is the jammed piece -- think I will need pliers to get that bit back in so it stops digging into the leather.
