hold down the "CDC" button on your radio until you see "AUX INPUT" on your radio screen and "iPod ->" on your dash display. You can then use your telephone buttons, etc etc.

are you pressing the phone button on your radio or on your steering wheel?

the phone button on the steering wheel are the only ones that work

yes on the steering wheel. When i press the button on steering wheel it gives the message function not available. I was wondering if you have to somehow enable this button as my car does not have a phone in it.

Yes, unfortunately you won't see the ipod screens on your normal radio display, even if you have command :-(... Now the phone buttons not controlling the "select and back" functions of the ipod is certainly a problem! Just checked, and we are on the same page here... mine works just fine. Personally, I would bring you car back to the dealership that installed the iPod kit and tell them that its either defective (IE, buttons not working properly) or is not configured properly...

Thats my .02

One more question. Do your cars have phone installed in them coz i just read the owners manual and it says that if 'function not available' message appears then it means there is no phone in your car. That means in order for ipod kit to run properly you also need a car phone ?

All the MOST based W203's came "pre-wired" for the phone option. The iPod kit will work as long as you have the telephone menu option, even if you don't have a phone installed.

Still does not work. My dealer says that since your car does not have a phone therefore the button is not available. Very weird though. Any other idea guys?

Did you ever figure this out? I ordered my 07 C230 with Ipod Integration from the factory and I can change tracks and see the song titles in the MFD, but can't access the menus and playlists with the phone buttons.

none of the buttons on the head unit work - only the ones on your steering wheel

Sorry, I meant the 2 phone buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel, not the one's on the head unit. (Though I tried those too.) I even tried a different Ipod with no luck. I have an appt. with the dealer tomorrow for the 1st courtesy service, so I'll have them look at it.

My dealer fixed the problem. Apparently the radio was coded for Ipod Integration, but the instrument cluster was not. Works like a charm now
