You can turn it off but I dont know if you can make the park light (small bulb) as your DRL. If you really want to do it, you might need to do some re-wiring. Are cops really that strict with regards to DRL's? When I lived in Toronto, it doesnt seem like they are strict with DRL's.

u can't use city light as DRL...

Harry, we're in Canada where DRLs are required by law. That's why our DRL and 0 settings seem to do the exact same thing.

A certain local member disabled his DRLs by getting a certain dealer to switch the car's country code to US. Not sure about the city light part, but that should at least switch off the xenon bulb.

HID bulbs have a lifetime rating of 4000h if I remember correctly, I'd be more worried about the transmission dying.

i don't think DRL is required in Canada, at least not in my province. DRL is required when the car is being made, whereas on the road is not required and cops won't challenge you just becuz of that.

Also i heard is that, if you do get stopped by cops, you can just tell them my OEM light was burnt, so you need to replace a new one, and to avoid power overload, or over heat at the day time, they have to disable to DRL blah blah blah. It's all BS man, cops don't usually challenge Mercedes, hell even my HID are bright and shine pretty high, they still don't stop me heh.
