Be carefull who you ask
The SRS code came up on my "03 C230K coupe.
I took it to a mega dealer,(name on request) in Marin County,outside SF.
Got the rich guy treatment,wash,maybe a little wax and shuttle home & back.
When I arrived to pick it up it was glowing in the sunshine.I had planned to take my sweet patootie for a drive along the coast up to Point Reyes national park.
They called & said that the airbags had been replaced.Italso had it's 40,000 mile B service.
WE got in,I turned the key,she fired up......and the SRS lite came up!!!
Got out of the car and reported it to a dispatcher.My SR was off.She said, "don't worry, it takes three days for it to recycle." So we did the hairpin loop-de-loops on the Pacific hiway.When I called my SA she had a cow. No such thing as a three day recycle period! I was airbagless for my jaunt!
Except for the luxury treatment & the warrenty, I would have had a cow.
Also, 5 miles before taking it in,I had filled the tank. When I picked it up it was down an eighth! I asked about that too. Some test drive. I had left it over the week end, so I suspected that she had been on a cruise without me.
