amber engine light 200k w203
hi ,im new to the site and need some help with my benz.
was driving it hard a few weeks ago and amber light came on,so i bought an obd2 autoscanner this morning from uif tech hooked it up and it displayed no errors. so i hit the clear button with hopes of the light going off ,but no such luck.does this take some driving/time to go off or was it ment to go off instantly?
the car runs perfectly so i dont even know why the light came on.

Some OBD2 scanners don't work well with MB, return that one and try another. Personally I use software and cable with a laptop from obd-2.com When I reset the code it goes off instantly. Don't let the fact that the car runs fine fool you. You could be damaging your engine further at worst, at best you are running in limp home mode which runs on a fixed set of parameters and you will lose performance and fuel economy.
