it will sound good, but i dont like having just one sub. i recommend getting two 10w6. i have a custom setup for sale that you could use...

i dk bout the 2005 benz' but my 2003 tweaaaaaaked the F out when i added my sub and amp at first because it just keeps on goin louder and i've STFF and went to the dealer to have them turn off all the stuff that could relate to it. I would change the deck unless u have a navi than i would try to work around it..... do u have a fiber optic system????

I blew my 10" JL W6 V2 b/c of my stock radio it just goes from sooo loud to so soft....

now everything is fine tho

g luck

you need a line level converter ($20) to tap into the rear door speakers for a signal.

you could try two 8-inch subs. that would sound pretty clean too. i have one JL12, but my box is ported and shoots into the cabin so it bumps pretty good just for one sub.

i also have a JL 12 w1v2..it slaps pretty good for a one sub, ppl always think i have 2 or more, b/c of how low it hits. ull be satisfied, with a 500/1 u might wanna think about running a 350/4 to ur highs. thatll be perfect..IMO.

If you want it to sound real clean look into the JL audio CLEANSWEEP(line converter) or the Audio Control 3.1. (line converter and preamp)
Im using the 3.1 running two jl 13.5 w6v2. You can find the 3.1 for around $150 and the cleansweep for $200. but if you dont care aoubt sound quality just get a $20 line converter at walmart itll work also. If u have any more questions i can help u. i did a couple of audio install on 05 c230ss..

If you want a system that bumps and u dont wanna spend a fortune just get a 12" Alpine Type R that thing will hit sooo hard. I have one right now and the bass is ridiculous. JL's in my opinion are a lil overrated but if u have the money get it i guess

there are plenty of other subs out there that hit just as good if not better
