my auto did it once going between 1~2. ESP was off it was cold and there was a mist on the road. But from what I have heard the sticks can do it no prob

Yes, I have an auto and can chirp 2nd if I try (takes practice to get the timing right), once a friend that was driving got a small chirp in 3rd too.

2. Put car in first gear.
3. Rev to 5000 rpm.
4. As quickly as you can, get your foot off the clutch pedal.
That's all there is to it. Why anyone would WANT to make themselves look like an idiot in their MB hatchback "chirping" their tire like a pimply faced teenager in a '92 Honda Civic is an entirely different question altogether.

I know about the following 1/4 miles with brand new cars;
Road and Track 15.7@88.9
MotorWeek 15.6@92
Edmunds 15.8@87.8
My guess is that if you took a C230 with a pulley with a good test driver (not me) you may break 15 seconds. Add a tuned intake and chip and mid 14's are very possible. Not too bad to knock over a second off a 1/4 mile for under a grand. Beat out a $40K+BMW 300Ci.

making the tires spin between gear shifts. When racing its good to have just a little chirp cause then you know your getting all the power to the ground.

man your time really sucked. u did worse than stock with a pully.

u should try to go to the track again i would be curious what time u get.

i think it would take a great 8/10 driver to beat a auto in the quarter. The manny's are faster, but it takes a great driver to do it. With the auto you just mash the gas. All I would do for the track would be do a burnout (a small one) to heat the tires up, turn off esp and go. I think the pulley will be more benificial with the auto, cause you never want to lay a patch of rubber for 20ft. a little chirp and bark here-and-there is ok but not a freakin burnout, or spinning like the Ferrari in the video did.

I haven't run the 1/4 yet with the pulley. It actually doesn't feel like the 230hp that Kleemann claims. I don't know if anyone else's cars feel the same way. It isn't much quicker off the line, probably because of the computer, and it does start pulling harder as it revs, but it just doesn't feel as powerful as I expected.
I ran a 6.8 0-60 without the pulley on the same run. Then I went out with the pulley and Gtech Pro and was running like 7.2 sec. This was before I gave the computer a chance to adapt and I never got the space to do a quarter run. And I haven't done it since. I'm going to put a K&N cone on this week and maybe I'll run it after that.
