C32 brakes

I've read many old threads on the subject of fitting C32 brakes onto a coupe. Will they fit assuming I have C7 wheels? So far the only thing I am seeing that is agreed is that 17" wheels are required.. But are the C7 - 17's big enough? (not all 17's are created alike).

If you have done this... can you post some pix? Also what did you pay for this upgrade?

Now then, please do not reply with waste of money, why bother... just useful replies to the question in hand. The last thing I want to do is start another physics discussion by amateurs as that seen the last time someone asked this question! (LOL). Simply put I've changed enough rotors in my life on a US Spec M3 to know that Big isn't big enough.

Thanks.

a lil long

that was very well said bout the "waste of money" thing. i might have been that person who started the thread who got drilled for wanting the upgrade, i have checked with my local dealership. the parts guy isnt so friendly, telling me it WONT work due to the hydraulic systems and the master brake cylinder needing to get replaced. I didnt want to discuss that with him. i just asked for the price so i would get a general idea to compare the $ to the brembo kit. from what i got only the fronts need to get replaced. these parts calipers(2), rotors(2), and pads(2) will cost $900. and to answer your main question, from what others have said it seems as though as long as you have 17" it'll clear the calipers... i have yet to track anyone who's done this conversion. hope that helps. i apologize for making this soooo long..

I have been going through the hydraulic parts and master cylinder, and so far I have not seen any different parts. Even if they were different, I doubt that it would be necessary to change them. How many Brembo kits have you heard of that require you to change your master cylinder? A 17" wheel will clear the height of the calipers, but most likely it will not clear the width. Unless you have enough backspacing to clear the caliper, you will have to use a spacer.

the face of the 17" on the c32 stick out quite a bit, farther even than the lip of the rim...guess they're trying to clear the width of the caliper...
