C 230 rear windshield replacement
Recently my C230 Komprosser rear windshield was broken. Will there be a difference if I replace it in a Mercedes showroom & in some other shop? How about I buying the original Mercedes part & replace it with a non-Mercedes shop? Please suggest me. Thanks in advance!

I think the rear window glass is a dealer-only item (someone correct me if there is another source). It is a special blue-tinted glass that is used in MB sport sedans only (luxury sedans get grey-tinted). It also has the defroster and radio antenna elements integrated into it. I would definitely recommend the factory part. Amazingly, most Mercedes glass is not as expensive as you might think, but the rear window is rather complex.
Any high-quality glass shop or body shop can do the installation. There is probably very little price difference among quality shops or the dealer. I would stay away from the "budget" glass shops. And stay away from the shop your insurance company recommends (probably low bid). The risks are high on a sloppy job (leaks, etc.). Give your Mercedes the quality it deserves.

I agree with alpinweiss- Your best bet is have the dealer install it.
You might get some reimbursement for your insurance co(Depends on insurance CO of course)- If so have Service Advisor talk to your insurance agent and you might not have to pay a full price.
Small glass shop might not be able to back up their work (no waranty) and most of installation jobs I've seen the quality of work are not very good at all.
Good luck
