Kompressor is noisy engine ?
I am using C180 (1796cc) KOMPRESSOR engine car (C200 and old before 06 C230 are the same engine ). I am sometimes very unsatisfied this engine's noisy too much inside the car. is that normal ? -Technically- Kompressor engines are noisy working machine that has less sizing engine and much Power !
Maybe Why Mercedes canceled this engine ,C230 K ,after 2006 year and changed to V6 |

That's normal with a supercharged motor and there's not much that can be done that MB hasn't already done (such as the sound silencer in the intake tract.) If you're bothered by the supercharger whine, you can always bypass the supercharger by getting a shorter accessory belt. You won't have very much performance, but at least you can isolate if that's the sound you don't like... Bob |
lol i always thought is some kinda screw is "loosen" when i bought my car, people thought i got a 1960s civic with that kinda old beat engine sound

Noisy
Mine is an old engine C200 compressor 2001. It sounds like a leaking manifold. I will get it checked to the dealer I bought from.

its known that the kompressor engine is noisy loh

Every 4 cyl Merc I have driven has always been noisy, esspecially at idle.

I drove a C230 Kompressor yesterday for the first time, and it's definitely noisier than our 2006 C230. It's not the supercharger whine, it's the 4 cylinder engine and rougher exhaust note that you're hearing. Stock vs. stock, I'm a bit more satisfied with the V6, although I wish it had either a bit more power or more available mods.

I'm a bit embarrassed about the noise myself. When I start the engine in the morning, it sounds like a tank and it causes cabinet doors inside the house to rattle. My buddies couldn't believe how loud and nasty the engine sounds when it first start up. (note: they all own Japanese cars, and they are literally silent.)
I drove the new V6 C230(loaner car) for the first time a few days ago. It is much quieter. The engine sounds more refined and much smoother. However I did notice some vibration inside the car when the car is idling. My I4 doesn't really vibrate unless I turn-on the AC. The new V6 C230 definitely lacks torque. There is not much going on below 3000 rpm. Where as the Kompressor give you a rush of torque from 2400 to 4000 rpm. I gotta say the new V6 sounds awesome, and extremely smooth when accelerating. Perhaps too smooth that it almost seem slow. |

Great sentence :D Yes sometimes mine too for example I was in Highway today. Normally in High speed and low noise but today high speed and high noisy too, few years ago I read in somewhere that Mercedes thought Engines change , Kompressor to Turbo, today it seems MB canceled it. with new W204 seems Kompressor engines (C180 and C200) more power with low benzine. We are far away C230 and orher V6 engines . What type of engines Mercedes use in these models? Probobly their performance is good but How about noisy ? for my K engine , It is better to do Ziebart, Sonax etc. Noisy Remove Process. Worth money for this job ? |
