nice way to market their company. bring in your car have a look.. change this change that you walk away with a hole in your wallet next thing you know your number is in there database and you have sales calling you to see if your interested in trading in your car

No, actually this is a very legit thing. It's sponsored by Mercedes-Benz USA, therefore, they're not losing any money or anything. They choose specific dealerships to extend this offer to customers.

BMW had the same thing whether you can just bring in your car and get a free checkup and they're no charge. Only to say, they aren't going to fix anything for free - they'll let you know the problems, issues and then you decide whether you'd like it fixed or not.

Essentially, you give your car access to their machine (which usually comes at a $100+ labor rate), for free. And you get to ask questions, etc, etc. It's a fun day and FREE FOOOOD. Yes, breakfast and then lunch is provided for all owners.

Probably, that's why I reserved a 1PM appointment, so my car is sure to be seen.

Let me translate this to english for you so you understand - "come on in sucker and we'll find things wrong with your car because our service revenue numbers are down this month and are desperate to try anything". Then they sit and wait and watch the suckers come one by one, tripping over themselves with ripe fat juicy wallets or warranties that need exercise.

I fell for that once, they found over $3,000 worth of repairs I never knew I needed at HOI in the O.C. Not one single repair was necessary, just a scam.

Well if there is free coffe & donuts I'll go without an appointment & park myself at the reception area where the pretty girls hang out. Look at a car, look at a girl; it's all good!

I agree. you know whats funny buell, last, AUG/SEPT I had my friend garage pump some refrigerant into my coupe, and the AC was cold as hell. bought the car in a few weeks ago, the cover of the thing was missing, today was warm, blasted the ac for an hour at 59deg air came out warm!

Jeez, what's wrong with you people LOL!! :rolf: No, it's not a scam, in April many other manufactures honor the "Driving Caring Month", Nissan offers the same thing.

Anyway, I went and it was not a scam, they didn't find anything wrong with my car! And they didn't try to sell me anything. I got to talk to some specialist who told me what can and cannot be installed in my car (mods). I ate (lovely food); and got a FREE Mercedes-Benz Tee-Shirt and Cap! AND a free car wash for the lovely weather! :D

Also, got to play around with the new '07 models in the showroom. I test drove the C230 6-Speed, as the sales guy was convinced I should trade-in my car for the new '07, but I wasn't really interested. I was more interested in the C350 6-Speed that wasn't at their location.

Lastly, I got to meet a couple of Mercedes-Benz owners, most notably an owner of an S65 and SL65.

When I was leaving my apartment, I was thinking, it'd be funny to show up with a BMW and pretend, "Oh man! I didn't realize" :rolf: ... They'd be like, "yeah sir, you were driving your BMW".... silence.... "So, since it's here, you think your guys can you take a look it at anyway?" LOL.

I love the ZHP (BMW 330i Performance Package), but I like the front-end of the Benz more (AMG Front Bumper/Foglights)...

My dealer has this pretty frequently. I always get letters from them every few months inviting me to take it in for free check up, and with the letter you get some discounts on parts.

I like our dealer. Some good food in the lounge, a few of the new models (VW, Volvo, and MB) in the service lounge and the showroom is only a few steps away. :)

Not much man. You should have stopped by for this, but it's kinda far, so maybe wait to see in MB Manhattan does this, but I doubt it... They won't have the space to handle so many cars. White Plains was packed!

I'll hit you up in a bit.
