More suspension issues....

Busted suspension with only 36k???
Guys...
Does 36,000 sound a little early for having to replace almost the entire front suspension... Thrust arms, control arms, bushings, etc.... The dealership is telling me this is going to be almost $2,000 and I'm under warranty!

I was told the new bushings were an "improved" design. They should be installing the "new" design on the newer cars too, but I keep reading about bushing wear on the newer cars regardless. So, I'm getting skeptical that the "new" design is any better, if not the same as the old.

This is starnge, but the dealer did replace my front bushings. And it was covered by warranty. Regarding the shocks I don't know, but 12,000 sounds like just 1/10 of what they are rated for even in NYC. But the entire suspension for $2K and not covered . That doesn't smell right. Just like $10K for an airbag

Replacing bushings, yes. This is a known issue. Replacing control arms (other than bushings) is the dealer soaking MB for the warranty work.

I would tell the dealer that I was going to confer with MBUSA on the issue in order to ascertain whether or not this is a warranty issue....that should get the truth out fairly quickly.....

I take very good care of this car and considering the condition of the car when I bought it a little over a year ago, the previous owner did too. Even if its aftermarket? Bumer to Bumper but still aftermarket... Believe me, I am furious!

My buddy has an e46 beamer with TKlein (sp?) Coilovers, sways, etc, etc.
He just brought it into the dealership this weekend with three broken wheel bearings and several worn out bushings. Understandably, NONE of the damage was covered under warranty.

Just had my front bushings replaced under warranty and I have aftermarket suspension. I can't see any reason why they shouldn't cover the faulty bushings under warranty.

Did you modify the suspension? If so then they most likely won't cover it under warranty..

Well I just got the phone with the SA. It appears that they are not budging. This is the second time the car has been in for "wandering" mirrors. They say they cant reproduce it yet I have to hit my memory button almost everytime I start the car. The are trying to charge me $225 for the weather stripping on the passenger side door... $125 for a wiring harness and a bulb because I am getting a "Rear tail light out" message but yet there is no rear light out. And then there is the suspension.... SA said the bushings failed and lots of other stuff failed because of it.... I told him that I had heard that the bushings failing was a known issue. He said he had never heard that. I also stated that I would be requiring a second opinion and contacting MBUSA if my warranty does not cover this. That didn't make him too happy. I'm sorry to say it guys but this is about to push me over the edge. I will be headed to the Acura dealership at lunch to look at a few TL's... It's just getting rediculous. Its like every 6 months the car goes to the STEALERSHIP for $3k worth of repairs and its there for 2 weeks cause they have to fight with the warranty company because they dont want to pay because the STEALERSHIP has milked it so much its $3000.

The SA is telling me there is no service campaign regarding the bushings in the front suspension. Does anyone know if this is true or not??? If so what is the campaign number?

Hey man, sorry I dont know about a service campaign. But that is absolutely rediculous that they would charge you for these things. They are covered under the warranty. Honestly, Its making me angry just reading this..
