2002 C230 Kompressor Coupe
Here's a question for you guys:
Has anyone figured out what the thinking was behind the design of the clothes hanger on the inside of the rear windows of the coupe? I can never get the hanger hooks to hang up there.
Do these things actually fold out? I haven't tried cus I don't wanna break them off.

The "Rest" feature was deleted for '03 C230's and C240's. The button is now marked "AC OFF" instead of "ECON" and "REST". #1, they deleted REST, #2 I think they relabeled it to end confusion about what "ECON" means. Either way, it simply disengages the A/C compressor.

I also found out last night that the '03 doesn't have a trunk lock like the '02 does. I know that locking the trunk/hatch wasn't going to stop somebody from folding the rear seats down to get back there but it would sure make it less conveinient to snoop around.

It still runs the fan with the car off. I was just hoping it worked the same even though it is marked different.

So if the engine is off and you press "AC OFF", does the LED light and fan runs? If so, maybe they just simplified and re-labeled the button.

Based on R4ND0M_AX3's post, I'm starting to think that MB realized that the button was confusing and Rest wasn't all it was craked up to be so they simply relabeled the button while leaving the (useless) Rest function intact.

While the REST function is useless in the summer, I have found it to be effective in the winter. Of course, how effective it is depends on how cold it is. I expect it is a lot less effective in Nashua than it is in St. Louis.
