Rear speaker rattling - c320 sedan
Anyone have the same problem of the rear speaker in the back rattling when there is heavy bass? If so, how would you stop this problem?

It rattles alright, but I recall some of the solutions was to stuff some towels in the rear speaker assembly or to bring it back to the dealer to add some installation.

There have been a handful of posts before concerning the rear deck rattle. In each case, the dealer had to re-stuff or rearrange the insulation in the area to stop the rattle.
Also previous posts have occassionally talked about adding a sub in place of the first aid kit. The fakie speaker grill is already in place, but there's a lot of metal bulkhead below that needs to be removed, which also reintroduces the possibility of rear deck instability. I don't believe anyone has come up with a solution, yet.

I had the same problem. Check the first aid kit, it might be that. I stuck a towel in it and now the rattling is gone. Organ notes and base are now clear and crisp (I blast hiphop).. My base level is on +8 out of +10. Treble all the way up.

i had the rear sub taken out because i used an aftermarket set in a sealed box. to pull out the stock sub, you have to remove the entire rear lining from the interior. once it is removed (very easy) you can unscrew the sub. i think this is the only way. by the way, if you want to remove the rattling sound, have a stereo shop install "dynamat". this stuff is amazing and removes about 80% of the rattling. believe me, i have two ten inch subs with a lot of power running to them and this stuff really helped me. should cost around $125 for the trunk kit installed.
