Hello world... :-P I'm new and wondering...
Hey all! I just got my car on Halloween and it is one beast! :D Well at least compared to my 94 civic hehe. I love the car and was thinking of some cheap ways to mod it so...
Anyone got pictures of a white debadged C230k? I think I want to debadge but I'm not sure. I've seen other colors debadged and it looks nice but I think the white color of my car already looks a little more pudgy than other colors so debadging might make it too fat looking. So anyone got pictures? I don't see many white C230ks in this forum but I'm hoping someone debadged and has a nice digicam :) Thanks! Oh yeah, I searched about debadging in the forum and people say heat it w/ a blow dryer then use floss and clean the adhesive. Is there a special way to clean the adhesive or do you just peel it off slowly? |
I've used WD40 before, some people mentioned goo-be-gone or some play on the words of that kind. gu-b-gone? I'm not certain, sorry.

Oh yes I forgot to ask about where I could get clear corners (ebay any good?) and how hard they were to install thanks!

Welcome to the forum, MagicianB. I got my car on Halloween last year.
I think the stuff is called Goo Gone. |

ive heard that ebay is a good source for clear corners for the C230. i bought the set of clear corners i currently have on my VW from ebay and the same company i bought them from sells them for the coupe as well. i personally am not going to get clear corners for my coupe when it arrives, but instead i already bought the euro rub strip which eleminates the corner lights altogether. i wont have a chance to install it though for about 2 months when my car arrives.

Hmm... well I was thinking clear corners would look good with a white car especially at night. It's not exactly legal though is it? Maybe I'll look into getting those. Anyone have a white c230k??? :(

Welcome MagicianB, congratulations on your car, may be you can post pics of it, and somebody can photoshop the debadging for you.
|
We still want pics please, I'll try to photoshop it for you.

MagicianB, i have a set of clear corners. i recently pulled them off since i got euro bumperstrip. i'll sell them to you with Razo Premium White side marker bulbs for cheap. even cheaper than ebay and you get the bulbs. reply back if you're interested.

Thanks everyone, I'll take pictures soon! I got a digicam but waiting for a nicer day to take pictures. I'll get them ASAP!
Antonio: Hmm yeah I'd be interested in buying them. IM me or something and we'll talk. Lynn: Are you talking about bulbs for the main lights or corner lights? Unless those bulbs are orange I think they'd be illegal still? nov0798: Thanks! |
my email is antonio_arci@hotmail.com.

Thanks for the research nov0798. If it were me, I might remove the "KOMPRESSOR" badging, but I would leave the C230 in place. Looks too plain with all the badging removed, IMO.
I believe the silvervision bulbs Lynn refers to are a silver look, but burn amber. With the standard faceted clear corners, you can't really tell what color bulb is in there, unless you get on your knees and look directly into the little clear window. I have the clear corners with a standard Amber 194(A) bulb. They work and look great. |
