manual tranny shift knobs pt. 2
couldnt find my old thread but does anyone know of any aftermarket knobs that will work with the 6 speed manual? i know there probably isnt much of a market for manual knobs for mercedes but im kinda getting sick of my stock one...

rob, the manual shifter is kinda REALLY DIFFERENT. the hole where it sits is really wide compared to ours.
Dino, I doubt there is. Brabus states that the R171 and the old illuminated shifter fits the manuals....it doesn't it has been proved!
the best to go is probably finding a momo or something similar.

The Renntech one will integrate like OEM, as will Brabus. If you go with any other aftermarket knob, you'll have to contend with either the boot not meshing well with the bottom of the knob, or the bottom of the boot that works with the knob not working with the center console.
You're basically f*cked if you want to go aftermarket. What I've done is I've got a Momo knob with an aftermarket boot (will replace it with alcantara eventually) and a Simoni shift surround that I bolted to the center console to finish up the bottom of the boot cleanly. There's really no perfect aftermarket solution, but it works for me.

btw, do you have a 6-speed coupe?

I have a 6 spd. My interior is black leather, etc. I liked how it tied in with the chrome as well (i've got the chrome door pins and surrounds also).
