What mileage for Service A?

My C-Coupe is one year old at about 11,300 miles and the service indicator says I have another 2,200 miles before service. Is this usual? The car hasn't been back to the dealer in all that time. Only added Mobil 1 when indicated.

you need to have a little more fun with your car

My A service came at ~9K and the B service at ~17K

The dealer is authorized to do it as early as 8k miles, just get the right service writer and they'll do it. This way you get a few more free services out of them in the 4 years.

I believe the service indicators have a number of factors that are considered, such as:

- Cold starts - number and how long until warmed-up
- Number of hours of operating temp driving
- Average speed
- Number of stops/starts

It occurs to me that if a person drove long distances with few stops, that may extend the service intervals. On the other hand, a lot of city driving with a lot of engine and/or car start/stops would shorten it.

Mine has called for 10,200 mile intervals consistently. B serivce done tomorrow, in fact!

Mine was 12k and I don't drive it easy (although I try not to bounce off the rev limiter much as a general rule) but what Patronus said made sense because I do a good deal of highway driving daily, and took many a long (100+ mile) trip. Service guy said anything <1000 miles to go is fair game which sounded reasonable to me. Doubting many dealers will see a car w/8k and over 2k to go on the computer but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

My C32 was at 10,400, and our ML went in at 14,000 or so.

The ML had a fair amount of highway miles on it.

hey man... i had my car close to a year and ya im at 6500 lol need another 8200 or something ... reason im taking it to service before the service A is because i gotta get them to fix my squeeks and warranty stuff. Since i know at this rate by the time i reach 14000 it would be 2.3 years lol
