Audio 10 arrived, 2 1/2 weeks
I'll be installing it tomorrow but would like to know something:
Do I have to get the fiber loop reset to recognize the CD player? If so, what eaxctly is this and how do I explain it to the technician. My MB dealer is shared with a Mazda and Volvo dealer, so only 1 shop, thus I am sure the techs are incompetent and won't know what I am talking about. I'd like to beable to explain how to do it somwhat and what it actually does.
Thanks.
For all those who asked me to respond to say how long it would take to get from German to Canada, its 2.5 weeks, exactly 3 weeks since I first transferred the money.

How much extra? Mine cost $30 USD to ship.

I just installed the Audio 10, and THANKS Session for the install instructions, so easy, longest thing was buying the screwdriver after I realized mine wouldn't fit.
The bass response is great, Christina never sounded so Dirrty!
glad you enjoyed the instructions.
Did you guys have Bose or non-Bose systems? curious to know how a Bose sys w/ audio 10 cd would work.
Also, I do miss the Audio Pilot. I think the A30 cassette sounded better when the windows/roof were open.
I have A10 with Bose. It works. The improvement in sound isn't as astonishing as others claim. There is more bass but, I believe the increased bass is coming from the door speakers and not the subwoofer.

I also noitced the highs seem a lot better.
All of this could be contributed to the digital CD rather than AM/FM radio and casette....
Those w/ bose though right now i feel like my my BOSE sub has been disconnected (i feel NO bass at all). Could it be disconnected?
I actually think the A10 may be technologicly inferior and probably cheaper to replace than the A30 Bose cassette so, some could actually consider the A10 a downgrade except for the addition of the CD player. I don't know.
I doubt it. I thought mine was disconnected too. It wasn't. It's just a small speaker that can, in fact, reproduce very low frequencies but, can't move much air (hence, no bass FEEL). With the A10, your door speaks will be puffing more air on your legs. I can't honestly say that the sound QUALITY has improved over the stock setup.

But Louder == better IMHO, the deck was underpowered before.
BTW Bose isn't know for huge pounding base, if that's what you want, then the money would've been better spent on aftermarket parts, IMHO of course.
My guess is the problem with the stock Bose HU was that it cut all low freqs. from going to the doors and, instead, expected the sub to pick up the slack. The A10 was probably configured without a sub in mind so it routes the lows to the doors.
*I am aware of Bose subs in home setup are typically passive and not active (not self powered) hence wussy. Didnt know how the mobile audio setup was. I guess its probably the same
since its a lease i really didnt wanna get aftrmkt headunit. I'll wait out and see. I think you guys are right in the sense that most ppl. think it sound better b/c its coming from a CD. I have a loaner Camry w/ in-dash from my MB dealer right now and i popped in a CD and with the right music it has pretty decent bass...I just hope that MB/Bose can at least match that
Plus I'm 23, dressed like Eminem in 8 Mile right now, anyone seeing me get outta the car takes a second look, so I do kinda worry about my windows being smashed to have an aftermarket deck stolen aftr someone goes to checkout my car when I walk off.
