Doubt it would work on modern cell network.
No more analog network.
You can rig up a Parrot Bluetooth setup....
there are instructions on benzworld from long ago..
I always wanted to do that and never got around to it.

If you still have the stock radio, get the Argos MB-1. The site that makes them (www.eiskits.com) seems to have died though. This puck adds full Bluetooth and has full integration. That includes the TEL button, numeric keypad, cluster display, and steering wheel buttons. There might be the occasional unit on eBay.

That phone was the Motorola v60. It had a stainless steel skin and was an Excellent phone. I had several, may even have the last one I used, but I'm not sure how compatible it would be. My only regret when I bought my C230 Sportscoupe was not springing for the phone package. MB offered a fully integrated wired system with a branded phone, display, stored numbers, hands free, the works.. I cheaped out and kicked myself until reliable bluetooth headsets were available. When I got my GLK, with full bluetooth, I was doubly chagrinned...

I’m not 100% sure my 2005 would be the original phone to your 2001...it could be, admittedly I don’t know enough about the pre facelift nuances.

I do want to keep all of my OEM gear...
