Are illuminated DoorSills a DIY Project
Has anybody installed the illuminated door sills themselves or
does the dealer install them for free since they are already
overpriced anyway ?
Also if you have illuminated doorsills in your car how cool/impressive do you think they look.
I have a silver car and was thinking about installing Blue doorsills.

2003 MB C230 coupe
i'm getting illuminated door sills on my coupe which is due to arrive in about a week or so. actually my dealer just called today to ask what color i wanted (blue, green, or yellow: i chose blue). i don't know about installing them yourself, but the dealership charges a per hour labor charge. i think they cost around 400 to 500 bucks to install depending on the experience of the dude or dudette installing them.

If its done by an experienced tech, it can be done within 1 hr. The hardest part is to locate the power cord and drill a couple of holes on the body & let the wires go through. No a tough job IF you know what you're doing.
They look pretty cool, especially at night.

There are other better things I can spend my money on as far as
car stuff goes.
The next hot item on my list is the Garmin StreetPilot GPS system
with voice recognition. Roughly 600 $ on etronics.com
