C230 - Any problems with visibility and blind spots?
I was wondering if you C230 drivers have any problems with blind spots in your rear right corners or in parking situations.
I know the car has an aggresively angle and the hatch glass is slender, so I wondered how you guys deal and or adjust to it.

Yea, when drivin the 230 i notice that there is fairly large blind spots in the passenger rear and the driver side rear. I haven't noticed any difficulty parking since i look over my shoulders when backing into a space. I just adjusted to the blind spots by checking them more frequently as i switch lanes

I have problems with both rear corners. I've learned to use both the tiny side view mirrors and the old turn the head and look thing. On my other cars that I've had, it was much easier (at least until I got the rollbar on the crx - now can't see sh*t to my left past door).

Can't really comment honestly on the Coupe (yet), but my current car has some horrid blind spots (with the top up, of course). I found an easy solution in properly adjusting my outside mirrors. This is apparently something that very few people know how to do (I sure was doing it wrong for about 20 years).
I suspect that the same sort of thing will be true with the Coupe, assuming it ever gets here.

You can always buy the C1 Memory seat package, which includes the "Parking Position" outside right hand mirror. It's a handy feature, blind spots or not. Helps compensate for the just average size outside mirrors.

There's no such thing as blind spots, just people that don't know how to adjust and use their rear view mirrors. The mirrors should be set so that as on object dissapears from the left mirror you pick it up on the center mirror and when it moves out of range on the center mirror you pick it up on the right mirror. Using this technique you will have a wide range view of the back without blind spots and without having to turn you head. You shouldn't have to turn your head to view out the back. It scares me when people merge onto the freeway and turn their heads to merge into traffic. Then the person in front of them stops and wham.

No, really, I don't have any problems with blind spots with the c coupe. Also, I don't find the mirrors too small. I actually don't like side mirrors that are so large as to include landscape sized views with lots of sky and road. I only want to see what is behind and beside me. Once the mirrors are adjusted properly, I think most people will be ok with the rear/side views.

A small glass would help!
Blind spot is a typical difficulty for a 2 door coupe like C230 or the old Mazda MX3. I used to have a Mazda MX3 which looks very similar to my current C230. To minimize the blind spot, the easiest and the cheapest way is to get a pair of small glasses and stick them to the side mirrors. In additon to having a shoulder check, which is a typical practice and a must-learn habit in a driving lesson, this blind spot thing shouldn't give you any problem!
