'02 C240: Do I really have only one power outlet?
I gave the car a good going over and it appears my 2002 C240 has only one power outlet (cig. adapter) in the cup holder area. Is this the case or am I blind???

yup only 1... same as my coupe, BUT YOU ARE LUCKY you got 2 extra door and 2 extra cup holder!!!
coupe only has 2... |
Yes. Get used to wiring in as many accessories as possible.

I want to wire in one power accessory to run my TomTom 720. I then want to connect the iPod connect wire between my iPod and TomTom as well. Not sure where to mount the TomTom. Up high left of rear view mirror or down low. Down low is too far to reach.
If I had two outlets I would be fine since I just need a cell phone charger and GPS hookup. Guess I will get to work on this when I get back. |

Far be it from me to tell you where to stick it, but I use the suction cup on the upper-left windshield when I need to look at it, and the ash tray cubby when I only need to hear it. The windshield's high enough to keep it out of the line of driving sight, and the ashtray's just out of the way of everything. So far, I've not used it for a long enough duration that the battery life (almost four hours) has been an issue. I'd advise against a "permanent" mount due to theft.
No, we don't have a lot of lighter sockets. But what do you expect from a car that's factory-equipped with a cassette player? |
easy solution...
walgreen sell them http://www.absak.com/catalog/images/cig-splitter.jpg done. no more epic hard work :bow: |

lol i already painted it...
www.nextmod.com a set of replica front and rear only 350 :y ask for peter, i might swing by highway 17 one day for some photoshoot with jezz's accord, and if you are free we might get the jack back and steal some booze off you :y:y |
Yer too young to drink, but with a dr.'s note you could visit the dispensery.
Yeh, just let me know, or I see the jack is on sale for $20 at Kragens. I'll just give you the 20 so you can buy a new one if you want. I need one either way, unless there was a warranty... ANYWAY, not to hijack the thread here, but yes, there is only 1 outlet. Handle it. |
what c230 suggested it probably the easiest way. A cleaner way would be using the splitter and tapping it in the cig lighter and drilltwo holes in into coin holder under the climate control and integrated it in the the coin holder.
your other option would be using the aux accessory on connect on the rear sam and running wiring from the back to the front and connect it that method. |
