Matte tape or no tape?

White car with matte black wheels and a chrome lip.

Should I leave chrome trim that goes around the middle of the car as is, or should i cover it with matte black vinyl? I am planning to do the rear diffuser/valance in vinyl, but i am curious if i should do the trim also. the chrome as is, matches the lip. but, the matte black tape, would match the wheel spokes.

that is correct.

i might be wrong though, maybe photoshop the front to see what it would look like with the tape?

if you going to do it...do it to all the chrome trims surround. leaving the front chrome looks retarded for the lack of better word.

you don't really have to, but it'll look better if you do because you can wrap around the trim instead of cutting it with the exacto knife

i think i am going to try it with the trim still on the car first. if that doesn't look good- i will take the trim off and do it that way. i might as well try it- it's not a permanent mod and a roll of tape should cost less than $20.

I vote a big YES. While you're at it, tape off the rest of the chrome as well, under the windows and the slates on your grille. Here's mine to give you an idea.

It's hard to tell under the windows, but it use to have chrome there too. I don't know why some are solid black and some have chrome, but I didn't like it.

And the grille.

Of course this is all personal preference, but I think chrome belongs on luxury not sporty. Your car looks great either way, most people (for the exception of this group) won't notice little things like this anyway.
