Calling out the wheel gurus (Will this wheel fit?)

17" x 8" ET38 over my AMG Brakes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

KIRA 03-30-2007 02:59 PM

why 17??

C24owner 03-30-2007 03:01 PM

yea, why 17's your in Miami

eunosracr 03-30-2007 03:18 PM

Ha good point, allow me to clarify. I want to send my current wheels (19inch HREs) back to HRE to get totally refinished and polished up. I sold my stocks a while back so I need something to roll on till the HREs come back. At this point im looking for the cheapest wheels I can get my hands on. Once I get my HREs back I will throw these in the garage and probably never use them again. Anohther forum member offered me a set but they are the sizes mentioned in my first post (ET 38). I want to make sure they will fit before I jump in.

KIRA 03-30-2007 03:24 PM

dude listen, don't buy cheap wheels, is a waste of time and money, use a little more buy a second set of nice wheels so you always have a second set rather than ugly stock

C24owner 03-30-2007 03:30 PM

ahh.. makes sense now.. I think that it also depends on the wheel itself ie. the spoke design.

eunosracr 03-30-2007 03:30 PM

I thought about that but I love my HREs and will never take them off. I want to go cheap becaase I will only use these rims for 3 weeks tops and probably never again unless I send my HREs back. I dont see the point in spending 2k on wheels I will only use for 3 weeks while I keep my 5k HREs in the garage.

It will be close. It depends on the design of the wheel. Measure the distance between mounting surface to the back of the spokes then measure how far your caliper sticks out from the mounting surface on the car. Also are you on coilovers? It may rub depending how low its set at. If they are only for temp use just run a cheap 5mm universal spacer until you get the HREs back.

RES 03-30-2007 05:40 PM

If they are the 7 spoke wheels they will fit. I use them for my snow tire. I have c32 brakes front and clk55 rears.
