2007 C230 mods
hello my fellow w203 owners.
my friend has an 07 c230. What kinds of performance mods are popular for these cars and who makes them? Looking for something cheap, no oped evosport stuff. Also does res delete void warranty? What about cat removal?

I think there is no such thing if you want real performance. Cat and resonator delete will only create aggressive/raspier sound. Weight might be less and he will feel a little more push but that's about it. HP gains, highly doubt.
What does he consider cheap?

if they stealership notices, deleting your resonator should only void your exhaust warranty.
for the cat, should void your exhaust warranty and maybe more, though i dont know for sure.
i think ASP makes a pulley or pulley kit for the car, but i dont know if its "cheap" or not. your friend could simply start off with getting some drop-in intake filters for the time being. Modding benzes simply isn't going to be cheap. German cars generally come with a nice little extra premium for parts, whether OEM or aftermarket.

no pulley kit for the 2.5L, that i am aware of anyway.
about the only thing that's available as far as the engine is concerned is exhaust (take your pick- one is as good as the other), res. delete, secondary cat delete, sprint booster, k&n, ECU tune (take your pick). the underdrive pulley sets that are avaiable are only 1/3 useful to the 2.5L engine. that engine uses a water pump and PS pump that's queer to that engine- so the only thing you can use is the alt. pulley.....as me how i know

Thanks for the replies!
What are some good brands to consider for ECU moding for the 2.5L?
