C230 - Acceleration characteristics??

I know you guys have your C230's broken in by now. So I was wondering how the car accelerates when you mash the throttle. Is it a "knock yourself back into your seat, punch in the chest" type of acceleration or is it smooth and gradual.

I was in my friend's Audi TT last night and I loved the "knock yourself back in your seat" type of punch.

I know it will differ between auto and stick and ESP on vs off. I'd like to hear opinions on people with both types of trannys.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hey heat -

It's more of a gradual acceleration up to 60 and then a WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! past 110mph.

It's actually a gradual but swift and seamless acceleration in other words refined not harsh, yet quick and agile. HOwever remember that is with my automatic, however the TT's are all manuals and manuals will always cause you to jerk your head back and make you feel like the car is rapidly accelerating when driving aggressively when in actuality it really isn't all that. I use to drive an S4 6 speed and that car was damn quick and I have driven TT's both versions and if your friend has the 180 hp version that car is not lightning quick and it's the clutch effect and tire chirp that causes that feel that you are talking about not its quickness. 7.4-7.6sec. 0-60 times on the 180 hp are okay but not push back in your seat feel, however, the 225hp TT version is the push back in your seat all hell breaks loose effect one, that one is awesome. But hey the Benz is a nice ride. It almost feels like a little electric charged car that has been overcharged and when nailed rockets seamlessly. The gears on the auto. just engage awesomely and that things really pulls hard. Just my two cents worth.

how long should one wait?

The manual says 1000 miles for break-in. I have 1460 which 800 of them are freeway miles.
