Hi
Would you believe it, was on motorway yesterday in queue of traffic (as always in UK), stop start. Guy behind in Ford Focus did not stop, bump. He was reading something while driving. Cannot see any external damage but will have checked by dealer. I seem to be having bad luck in general with this car, have not been in a bump for around 15 years.

I (vaguely) recall that an average driver gets in an auto accident once every 3 years. At least in the US - not sure to what extent UK statistics differ. Based on that figure, your 15 years seem like a long trouble-free stretch! Then again - what can you do? There are so many careless drivers around... But I always thought reading, eating, putting on makeup etc. while driving were specifically American features... Looks like the disease is spreading around.

Hi all
Phoned dealer today, they said take it in and they would look straight away on the ramp and check there was no hidden damage.
Took it in, they checked it, no damage, small scratches on bumper they T cut out. No charge, all done within 45 mins. Really pleased with the great service.

Several months ago, I got bumped by a very small oriental woman in her Accord. She could barely see over her steering wheel. Ha! Anyway, I was stopped waiting for a light, and she pulled up behind and completely stopped. But she took her foot off the brake while adjusting her radio or something. Bump. Some small scuffs that were easily buffed out with some GS27. No problem.

The 404 bumper (mounted on steel straps) boinged into, and slightly dented the body seam located under the taillights, rebounding afterwards. When I showed her the damage (almost invisible) I said "mum's the word" if she'd give me $50 on the spot. Which she did. As a grad student at the time, that was the weekend's beer money
. Oh, and the whole car only cost me $250....
