What can I replace Aeros with on a 2004?
Are there flat baldes that can work with that wedge shaped metal flange that skips into the top of the aero? If not, what do I have to replace to get other wipers to work...is there an adaptor...or do I need to replace the arms?
Thanks...I'm having a rough week with this little c-class cashwagen.
It was happening with my last wipers (OEM Aeros), so I thought they had just worn out. I put on a new $80 set of OEM Aeros and the problem has continued.
Rather than replace the wiper arm (which I'm assuming has to be fairly expensive), I just want to use flat blades. Somehow, the arm is not providing enough pressure on the curved Aero blade to keep it in contact with the windshield all the way.
Since the flat blade is already in contact with the glass, that problem is solved. My question is...does anyone make a flat blade that I can use on the car without replacing the arm? If not, is there an adaptor that I can use to convert the arms to conventional blades?
There are lots of great blades out there...but those of us with the factory Aero set-up can never use them. It's always $80 to replace blades. I live in Chicago, and the winter road salt RUINS blades. I wipe them off when I can, but most of the time, you're on the road, or on the way to work when the damage is being done, and Every Spring it's a streaky windshield.
I just want to be able to replace my blades when they start getting streaky (every year) with something other than that one $80 blade.
If I have to install new arms, I will. The cost will probably negate the benefit of being able to use in-stock blades that I can buy at Advanced, but that's life. I just thought I'd give it a shot here to see if anyone had an idea other than mine.
