W203 car radio has just died on me
My W203 2001 C220 CDI audio10 tape radio has died on me, just stopped…..i’ve been told it could be a fuse but is that easily replaced ?
I’d prefer to test this before buying a new radio

BTW - New Audio 10s with CD are readily available. Hope it does not get to this.

gmr i cant see those images you attached...
I'm just after coming from my car electrician, he's checked fuses both under the bonnet and to the side of the steering wheel. he thinks there could be a fuse in the radio itself, could that be a regular problem ? he (and me) are unsure just how to get the radio out

Can't see the images at all or can't read them. I can read them fine. They are all the front & rear SAM fuse locations.
Here is the full Audio 10 install pdf I made before someone wiped all the pictures off the forum. It could well be a fuse - Fuse 64 is the radio & command fuse. PM me your e mail address & I will attach fuse diagrams. They should be folded up in your rear fuse box.

This is a message from Saprissa - one of our great moderators. If you can't see pictures then log on as he suggests.
[COLOR="Blue"][The biggest problem I have when posting / uploading photos to MBWorld is that if the are uploaded on the https://mbworld.org/ website, those that log on to https://mbworld.org/ website, cannot see the photos.
I've asked repeatedly in the past why this happens, but with no answer.
I believe that Admins only see both sides as one site (www and forums) so they see the pictures no matter what site they are logged on. But for me and many many others who have complained, that is NOT the case. Someday hopefully, they'll figure it out and link the two, so that all picture files uploaded to MBWorld will show up no matter if you log on to the "www" side or the "forums" side. /COLOR]

these fuses have now been checked by my auto electrician and they are fine. as he says the only other place where there might be fuse is within the radio compartment/unit itself, is that possible ?

ok,
i am the process of following a set of instructions where i need to remove dash from the ashtray to air vents above radio. i have got as far as the part where i need to prise down the teeth on the far left and far right (which are in behind the vents)....i keep thinking i'm going to break them as they keep snapping back up on me.....i stopped at that point, is there a knack to it ?

Have a look at step #10 under the HVAC stepper motor arm replacement thread & other explanations above that. It might explain things better.
Go here:

I had no trouble getting mine out to get a piece of leaf that got stuck in there.

step #10 picture 2
when using the thin flat-blade screwdriver to prise down the teeth,
is there a method to do this ? ie do you gently try to nudge out the vent while prising down the teeth ?
(its at this point that the teeth keep snapping back up on me, and i almost think i have broken them each time, but they are fine!)

MBWorld Fanatic!
I was just reading through the thread- hoping Glyn wouldn't beat me to his last answer.
He is correct though- slightly pull the vent out as you are un-hooking it. That will get it out enough that the latch doesn't grab it again. Go around and do the other latch the same way (can't remember if there are 2 total or 4 total on the center vent).

Glyn- you're not the only one with diagrams up your sleeve......
There is a 10a fuse on the back of the radio.
See post two from this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...les-these.html

I have a radio for sale. I took my '06 C280 radio out to replace with high tech touchscreen and backup camera. Original radio is in perfect shape and I just put it on eBay. Here is the link to ebay post. http://www.ebay.com/itm/192214161630...84.m1555.l2649
