W203 2005 Head Unit Display issue.
On my C240 MY2005 with the standard Head Unit, the display started by being intermittent ON/OFF. Currently it is now OFF (looks like a permanent condition). I get sound and all Head Unit and steering controls work fine. It is also not temperature driven. Anyone seen this or any variation of this problem? Thanks.

I've never heard of this, but if I were you (assuming you're out of warranty), I'd take out your head unit, open it up, and check the connector to the VFD. Make sure its not loose.
If its well connected, get out a multimeter and start testing all the caps and resistors. Replace any that are not working properly. It could be as simple as a $0.40 capacitor.
Last resort, buy a used head unit off the forum. I also have one that can be had for cheap. They're a dime a dozen since so many people upgrade here.
