On a xA xD xB.. of course!

On a tC.. maybe he didn't drive his car properly or didn't give it all it had. It should keep up better than that. The tC is a peppy little performer.

Yeah It was the tC. We went from a dead stop and from a roll.

Maybe he just sucked at a manual?

I find my car peppy but I know its not that fast.

Only other raced was an RSX till about 60. Pulled a car and a half twice on me.

RSX base model is about equal to Scion tC in power. RSX-S is a little rocket, should beat any stock C230 and probably C320. The tC isn't fast by any means. I'd like to drive a M272 C230 with a 6MT. That's one of the few W203 cars I haven't driven.

is there any reports to show (statistics) how many c230's have been wrecked/totalled? if there's any, and stats show that there are more tC's, 350z's, etc that were totalled.. it just shows.. our's isn't that fast.. but lasts long :-)

(previous owner of a 350z.. totalled it by being so stupid to show-off.. lesson learned.. bought the c230)

If you insist on ragazine racing, the tC can pull a 15.7@88 in the quarter mile.
Sweet! My car can beat a tC!!! (15.66 seconds 1/4 mile)

C230 Kompressor > C230 V6

In this case, anyway.

When the V6 C230 first came out, I drove one in stick at MBUSA when we had the first AMGfest there. It pulled a little better at parkway speeds, but from the hole, it was noticeably slower... I wouldn't be too surprised if it had a little longer of a 1/4 mile time, but a higher trap speed.

I've only ever driven a V6 C230 in automatic form. My 2005 C230 is also automatic. From the hole, definitely feels a good bit slower. On the highway, pulls decent, doesn't feel like it really has any advantage power-wise over my car. Smoother. Much worse on fuel economy.

Since my car is well cared for and with no engine troubles, I prefer the M271 over the M272 personally.

Has anyone tried to burnout on their C230... I've tried 1000 times and still can't get a decent little burnout. Yet i love my W203!

Mine will power brake easily, but it doens't have enough power to keep the tire spinning after you let off the brake pedal if that's what you're trying to do.

2005 C230ss 6MT vs. 2006 Civic Si 6MT

I raced a kid in a stock '06 Civic Si from a stop and a 30mph roll and it was a dead heat at any speed... and I'm running 225 Michelin Alpin PA3 snow tires. I'm betting 15.6xx's are doable with the 6MT version of the C230. I'll have take it to the strip to see for sure. Nothing smokin' fast, but PLENTY of fun on the daily drive.

Go drive a 335i if you care that much about 1/4 mile times.

My last car(Evo) used to run 11's and spun right through 1st. Yes EVO's are 4wd lol. Big difference from a 11sec EVO into a Benz that can barely scrape 15's. Haha. That's why i'm looking for a 335i.

There's a big difference from a 11 second car to a 13 second 335i, as well.

Don't you know that the engine used in the (1,3)35i trim level is actually underrated.

You can easily get a 335i over the 400whp mark w/ some tuning and some bolt-ons. Once I sell my w203 I might go back to a EVO. Depends.

I own the N54 engine, so yes, I'm aware. Not that it matters - underrated or not - it's still not capable of an 11 second 1/4 mile time and trap speeds are about 104mph.

Actually. It is, I've seen a 135i run high 11's. Emphasize SEEN.

Not stock. Maybe our wires are crossed, but I was talking stock. BMW is cracking down on the ECU tuning things people are doing.

I'm speaking of stock as in just a K&N intake. The owner didn't even remove the resonator. I'll probably go back to a EVO or get a EVO X. This mercedes scene is just too luxurious for me haha.

A 135i or 335i is not capable of an 11 second run stock. I don't care what the owner said to you or whatever. 11 seconds is GT-R, Vette ZR1 territory. Either you OR the person who told you the 135i was stock is full of it.

Edit:

Anyone who is even mildly car-savvy would know better. The N54 engine is underrated by 15-25hp at most. It's a lot faster than the non-AMG C-class cars, but it's a low-13 second 102-104mph car in the quarter mile, at best. It's certainly not underrated by the 200hp or so that it would need to accomplish a high-11s time. An E55 AMG with 170hp and 216tq is typically low-12s. Common sense.

11's is actually EVO territory as well. Perhaps you are right for the N54 engine, but you can't make a refference to the E55 because of weight difference. The E55 weighs somewhere around 3700-3800 or possibly higher. Weight is a bigg factor in the 1/4. I don't want to argue w/ you man, you know more about these BMW and MB's than I do. Ask me about Turbo'd Japan Econoboxes I'll being to talk haha.

I know the E55 is heavier, but it is also much more powerful. The N54 engine is slightly underrated and it's great fun, but an 11 second car it is not. Neither is a M3 or M5 V10. A Mitsubishi Evo X MR is a high-13s low-14s car, and a Evo X GSR is a mid-13s car.. so not without mods will either of them touch 11s. An Evo X is toast against a 335 or 135i, properly driven.
