C230K tool kit
Reading the first aid kit post got me to thinking that I had seen no tool kit in the trunk of my C-coupe, and I thought there was supposed to be some kind of tool kit. I have the first aid kit, the spare tire, bolts, jack, air compressor and an empty longitudinal plastic tray that lies across and on top of the wheel well under the floor mat. Should there be a tool kit in that tray (as the printed label which says "tool kit" in three languages implies? 
Page 321 in the manual references a tool kit but doesn't elaborate.
I also have a large, clear plastic bag neatly folded and a piece of black molded plastic (also in a clear plastic bag) whose function and purpose is a complete mystery to me.

C230 brilliant silver, panorama sunroof, auto, everything but leather.
The plastic bag with the plastic "tray" in it is your front license plate holder. I was told that when I get my plates in the mail from the DMV, that I should take it into the dealer and they will install them. I too am wondering if I should have that tool kit???

My guess for the large plastic bag was that it was for a flat tire. It just seems that a car with so much thought put into it as to include a tire bag would also have a basic tool kit. It is no biggie as I always carry a tackle box with basic tools in my cars, but it would be nice to have the car kit. I'll ask at my dealership, which happens to be Bill Ussery Motors. Despite all the bad press they are getting here lately, I had no problems with my transaction. My saleslady, Michele, seemed well informed, answered my questions and conducted our business deal in a professional manner. I hope my service visits to their establishment go as well.
