Leak from engine connector - diagnosis required

2002 Mercedes Benz C230 Coupe
Leak from engine connector - diagnosis required
Hi all,

My car recently turned over 150000km. Opened up the hood today and saw some dried up stuff at the location where a pipe connects to the engine. Any idea what that pipe carries and should I be worried about this dried up leak?

Any advice/suggestions are welcome.

THE C350
i would say that you have a cracked pipe or fitting and just need to replace it.

It's not very important - It's a captive crankcase & tappet cover breather that feeds into the oil catcher on the inlet. If it worries you just get a new rubber pipe.

Im going to clean up the mess and see how long it takes to happen again and then decide how quickly i should change it.
