A/C Repair - Sydney Australia Workshop Recommendation?

A/C Repair - Sydney Australia Workshop Recommendation?
I have a 2000/2001 W203 C240 which has an a/c leak from the front seal of the a/c compressor.
Some workshops have indicated that the compressor must be replaced together with a number of other components while other workshops have indicated that the compressor can be reconditioned and no other parts are required unless the compressor has already failed and there are metal particles throughout the a/c system.
Don't know who to trust. Can anyone recommend a workshop? Don't want to spend more than i have to.
Is the a/c system on the W203 any more sophisticated than any other car? Can i trust a local Auto Electrician?

compressor have to be replaced with drier, A/C oil and all new O rings at a minimum, other parts may be needed depending on why the compressor failed
MB always hade a complicated AC, because of the automation, and with that you get a ton of parts that any of them can go bad
