Key transplant failed :(

I just tried to do a key transplant and it failed.

I can swap out everything.. Lock/Unlock/ TRUNK RELEASE works hehe
but i cant start the car... i think the key housing itself holds the frequency for the car

Anyone do a successful transplant???

Or else my keys might "fail" and i will need replacements

It worked for me.

Is it possible you don't have it pushed in far enough and it isn't making contact with something?

arg really hehe.. thats strange..for some reason everything else works

maybe my spare key is wierd.. ill try again later..

cuz im not exactly sure where i stuck my spare haha

this happened to my friends 97 c240....when he dropped his key on the floor, everything worked except the car didnt start, the laser was broken, his mom had to drive to where he was and bring the spare, whata long night that was

There is no laser, its IR and that was not the problem. The inductive proximity chip must have been damaged in the drop.
