faults after Brake Pad Change?
Hey Guys!, I have a 2004 C200Kompressor and just got a front brake pad change today, bought the sensor for the front, I took it to an independent mechanic who is a "specialist" with MB cars, thing is that after the brake pads were changed and the sensor was replaced I am now getting a few faults on my dashboard.
When i turn the car on I get "BAS not available" and "ESP not available".. after driving for about 30 seconds it switches over to "ABS System- Visit Workshop", "ESP - Visit Workshop" and "BAS- Visit Workshop".. now.. I asked the mechanic why this happens.. and well, I sense the they screwed something up when changing the pads and he is just avoiding the fix.. he said that there must be some problem with corrosion around the sensors bla bla bla... so Im taking the car back tomorrow so he can "clean" the sensors and have the lights removed.. he also connected the car to a diagnostic software and tried to erase the warnings but they just came back on..
any ideas? I want to be informed about this situation.. has it happened to anyone before? what was the fix?
I dont think that the systems have a problem because never before did the lights come on...

It is likely that they have damaged or disturbed the ABS sensor on one of the front wheels. All the systems showing faults are interrelated. This has nothing to do with the pad wear sensors. Also get them to bleed the front brakes - at least until clean fluid comes through. Sometimes pushing back the brake caliper piston pushes crap back up the lines into the ABS unit.
Check those ABS sensors first.
