All Mercedes cars (even the S Class and SL's) have ergonomic seats....where the lumbar support is designed into the seat.
The multi-contour is the only way to get an adjustment...unless you custom install an aftermarket set up. On my last car (Eagle Talon) I removed the drivers seat cover and slipped an adjustable air filled lumbar pad I picked up at JC Whittney's. This was similar to the set up I had in the Toyota Supra I owned before that.
But I haven't found a need for this in the coupe....
