What is this part?
Hello all I'm looking for some help on stopping an oil leak. In the photo, I have no idea what the part with the red arrow is. We have changed the other cam plugs but I can see oil dripping from the bottom bolt of the other one and would love to fix this. It also appears near impossible to access. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is on 2006 c230.
BTW this isnt my engine just a photo a found online

Buy a Hanes manual, and a half decent torque wrench. Otherwise, your long term outlook is very very bleak.

That's looks like the brake booster vacuum pump. If it's anything like the one on the 4 cylinder then MB won't sell the O-rings separately. Honestly it's way easier to simply replace the entire pump (on the 4 cylinder they updated the design with different internal O-rings etc.) than to try and plug the leaks. Even if you wanted to take the pump apart, you'd have to remove the entire pump assembly first.
Personally I tried and failed to plug the leaks with sealant several times before I finally threw in the towel and replaced the entire pump. Wasn't cheap but it fixed the problem permanently.

Thanks for the help guys. FCPEuro has the part for like $170 which isnt too bad. It just looks to be a real pain to put in with the tight space. Seems we have a tiny radiator leak going as well. Guess I'll have to look at replacing that too.
