I really like the BBS rims, but even though I'll be getting settlement money, mom and dad are paying for them, its a graduation present. I finished College today. The BBS rims look good to doubt, but for the money I will be just as happy.

I like the Moda's too, but the weight will kill you. The 18 X 8 is around 29 lbs. and the 18 X 9 is around 32 lbs.

Thats something I hadn't thought about. Do you know of any wheels similar and fairly cheap that are light too. Or should I email luke at tire rack??

I just called tire rack and the weight of those are 27.5 lbs does anyone know the weight of stock rims, non C7?

Aye, there's the rub.

if you want light 18's they won't be cheap. RENNtech monolights cost $850 a piece but weigh only 19 lbs. But i'm sure better wheels are out there for a MUCH better price.

But I'm getting the Renntech Pully and Chip (maybe exhaust) in May so I don't think a few extra pounds will really hurt me that much.

The Moda's look good, but the BBS wheels look better.

If you want light, remember LIGHT=$$$.

It’s not only the weight to consider, but also rotational inertia, un-sprung suspension weight, etc. A larger and heavier wheel places more weight towards the outer edge of the wheel. I won’t go into un-sprung weight, etc., but a quick look around should provide you with more than enough information.

As for wheel weights, yes, I agree, lighter is more money. Here’s some links to wheel weight information, so maybe you can find something you like that’s within the price range. These sites don't apply specifically to MB's, but it's a place to start

http://www.miata.net/faq/wheel_weights.html

http://integra.vtec.net/wheels/wwd.htm

This site is having a "quota" issue, so you might need to check back:

My choice for what? My new car?
That would be a Brand new 2002 Mercedes-Benz C230 Sports Coupe. Brilliant silver, auto, navigation, leather, panorama roof.

If I were to get rims again I would get the Brabus Monoblock VI. It looks really nice on the C coupe.

Sorry, cross posting so I didn't see the other question. I thought you meant by the above that you made a choice on another rim.

I would get Lorinser LM5s, but perhaps i'm biased...

Seriously, I think the Carlsson 2/5 or 2/6 brilliant or the Brabus Monoblock VI 2 piece look the best on that car. We put a set of 19" VI 2 piece on a black C230K/6 last week, and it looks GREAT. Also did a spring kit on the same car.

Out of all Lorinser wheels for the Coupe, I'd also pick LM5... together with Lorinser side skirts I think this combo is awesome!

can you post pics of this.

LM5's are okay but not great. LM6's are just plain gross (and i'm mean gross, not trying to be "cool"). But that's just my opinion
