Please note that these are not the long life coolants:
You should use products meeting 325.2 or 325.3 or newer |

That's the stuff bud! I keep meaning to stick all this on my oil thread but you have made it easy to search :y
|
So don't top up with 325.3 if your car currently has 325.0? My 05 book says 325.0 and has a 14y/150k lifespan supposedly.
|
Your book has one of the many F---ups that Benz make. 325.0 will never go 14/15 years.
|
I suspected as much. No matter. My car would have 400,000 miles @ 15 years old - coolant would be the last to worry about. What's a good interval?

100K

My 100k list is growing as it rapidly approaches. I'm about 90 days away from it. :y

Trans flush is coming soon |
Hey guys. Coolant check came on this week. 2003 C230 Kompressor Coupe - manual says 325.0 anticorrosion/anti-freeze. I looked up the list of approved on the bevo.mercedes-benz website here: https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolistenmain.php?navigation_path=bevolisten&lang uage_id=1&blatt=325.0&content_action=show&mark=&su chbegriff=
and I see the Zerex G-48 is an approved coolant. The Zerex G-48 coolant is blue, mine is currently orange. I did some search and most said colour is not an issue (i.e. I can mix blue with my current orange). Also, the manual talks about how important it is to use the anticorrosion coolant because of the aluminum parts. But I don't see that the Zerex G-48 says anthing about anti-corrosion. I'm assuming because it's on the MB approved list, it's ok? Just wanted some clarification from other W203 owners. Thanks in advance guys! |
How do you know the coolant is bad? my 2005 C240 is on 150K Miles clear coolant.
|
Not saying the coolant is bad - it needs to be topped up. Checking on the appropriate coolant to add.
