check out this thread, How to remove the back seat
Karo posted some PDF's on the entire process. You should read through those, but in simple terms:
1)Remove the bottom cushion by removing the four bolts across the base
2)Remove the backrest by removing the bolts across the base and from the trunk release the catches that are behind the black oval covers with a screw driver. Just flip the lock tab over.
3)Remove the side pillars covers by popping open the SRS covers and remove the bolt inside. Pop the covers out and slide them forward. They actually sit in gooves in the rear deck.
4)Remove the rear deck by taking out the two plugs at either end and the the pop-in retainers with the rubber bumpers.

thanks! very detailed instructions indeed. just what i was looking for.i will start tearing the back seat tomorrow hoping to solve the rattle that comes from the left deck speaker. I called the dealer yesterday to get a qoute and guess what.... the h/k speaker costs $330 and the labor is about $345. wow!!!! i will try my best to check it first to see maybe just lose screws or fitting... wha'd you think?
