Question on Tire size, Please help:2005 C230 Sport
I have a 2005 C230 Sport Kompressor with stock tires:
Front 225/45/17
Rear 245/40/17
I am about to get four new tires but a friend told me that he went up in size when he changed his tires without changing the suspension or anything else but just the tires and the car handle fine with no problems. The changes were;
Stock Front 225/45/17 -to- 235/45/17
Stock Rear 245/40/17 -to- 255/40/17.
Wanted to find out if anyone has done anything similar without changing anything else and had no problems. the dealership is not helping. Any response will be appreciated. Thanks

You're just increasing tire size so you wont have any problems. Just remember when you that you're speedometer is going to be off. You can go to discount tire and use their calculator. Here's the link

People just change tire size to either put more rubber on for a more comfortable ride or get it wider so they can have more contact to the road. Here's what 235/45/17 look on 17x7.5. It just takes away that aggressive look on our cars IMHO.

+1 on nothing wider than a 235 for the front or you will have issues.
This combo size is popular for your model is you upgrade the tire size-
Fronts- 225 40's
Rears- 255 35's

Those sizes that you want to upgrade to probably cost more, id just stick with stock sizes so you dont potentially rub, and also itll just look less sporty with bigger sidewalls.
